Sikinos is nothing more than a speck in the blue Med. 250-something inhabitants (in wintertime), one gass station that is open for 2 hours a week, one shop, a handful of restaurants… Plus a winery, who would expect that? George Manalis is the former mayor of the island and since 5 years he is growing indigenous grapes along the slopes of this very hilly island. Come here around sunset to drink a rose wine and try some of George’s chickpea, revithia, dish. He cooks it for 15 hours in a big pot in a wood fired oven…. Slow cooking on a very slow island.
