Obviously this German mecenas had taste when it comes to building a museum in the middle of a desert. this is the museum of the El Brujo archeological site, dating back to 800 AD. It’s all about the Moche civilization up here and the mummy of the only known female royalty from during this period. The beautifully designed museum was build by The Wiese Foundation, founded by Don Augusto N. Wiese Eslava in August, 1960 as a token of gratitude for his success in the banking and commercial sector. The purpose: to promote health and education in Peru.
