Apparently there are 4400 pagodas in Bagan, scattered around in a sea of green. Because of the rising popularity of Myanmar, it can be quit difficult to find a temple without busloads of tourists around sunset time. Our good guide Myint Zaw made the choice not to take us to the more popular ones but to lesser known pagodas where you can also climb up the holy stairs to get a fab overview.

So this is the result. Stunning scenery and few other tourists. I hope Bagan will manage the amount of visitors it will get in the future or it will become one big theme park with angry and aggressive bus tourists…
