For those who wonder what Burmese food is like… here you go.
It is kind of like curry, but not like you get in India. You can’t really compare it with Thai or Chinese, nor with Nepalese.
The Burmese like oily and salty, to an extend that you say, stop, no more.
They claim their food is spicy but so far they haven’t been able to knock us down with their chilli dishes.
My favorite dishes so far, a curry from duck and a cold and delicious condiment of cucumber, onion and coriander.

    If you happen to be in San Francisco CA, there is a very popular restaurant called Burmaes SuperStar. There I had my intro to Burmese cuisine and hands down it has become one of my favorites and must go when I’m in town.

    I’m looking forward to having the real thing when I visit Burma at the end of the year.

    • Ja, dat is het Dirk, je voelt gewoon dat het hier in de toekomst “too much” zal worden en het ziet er naar uit dat ze vanuit de regering niks gaan doen… toeristen betekenen geld, dus laat ze maar komen. Deden ze het maar op z’n Bhutaans, met wat beperkingen…
