So there are two options to get to Briol: hike for 60 minutes trough dense forest while climbing several 100 metres higher or take a 4×4 taxi up the mountain. The fact that no normal car can get to the hotel gives you a sense of being remote. Briol hasn’t changed that much since it opened in the 1920′s. Yes there are now solar panels on the roof but the Bauhaus-style small hotel has kept its original appeal and charm. Not easy in a fast and ambitious world where people expect the standard mod coms and luxuries when they travel.
