Where are the San Blas islands? Practically nobody knows, maybe for the best. You already have to do some effort to get here. Or sail or fly with a small plane from Panama to this remote part of the world. We are talking about 378 islands lost in the Caribbean sea. The inhabitants are the Kuna Indians, once living on the mainland in Panama and Colombia but now -thanks to mosquitoes and colonists- permanent residents of these tropical islands. For every interaction ( a chat, a photo opp, a coconut drink) with a tourist they ask 1 dollar. Strange… but still, a great spot to spend the morning on the beach and then off again with the zodiacs back to our glam ship Le Boreal.
