This could be the courtyard of an Aman Resort in Asia but instead it is the innersanctuary of Huahuasei Lodge in Wumu. Naxi craftsmen from the village worked two years to build this wooden house with its 7 rooms, owned by Wendy from Belgium and Jeff who was born here.
The lodge is new and it still needs some finetuning but the hardwear and good intentions are here. It is a wonderful spot to immerge yourself in some authentic Naxi culture and ways of life. But be warned, it’s all about agriculture here so you share the streets with pigs, chickens and old ladies carrying too heavy bags with greens and tabacco up and down the hill.
We loved the tranquility and the views and wish Wendy and Jeff good luck to make HuaHuasei lodge succesful!
