This is probably the most romantic photo we took so far in Mongolia. Pollution-free dark sky with many stars, an empty steppe and our lonesone ger. We are GERscaping with Nomadic Journeys while escaping other tourists (while in September there are almost none). After setting up our ger (in half an hour, remember) we enjoyed a tranquile but very cold night. The light you see coming out of our ger is from my headlights I am wearing in bed while being covered with three camel wool blankets and my favorite Yeti sleeping bag. My second half was less lucky and had to stand in the dark and cold until he had this perfect shot. But it was worth it, don’t you think?
