Victor Lamberto, the Slow Food responsible for the Alentejo region in Portugal, showed us today a real tasca. The sort of local restaurant that is dying out, disappearing. No sign, no indication that through this door, there is a restaurant. Mother in the kitchen, husband behind the bar. They still make wine and port, cook the traditional poor man’s kitchen of this rural area close to the border with Spain. These kind of tascas are almost lost glory, hopefully with the help of Slow Food, they can preserve them as long as possible.
