The Blue Star ferries are iconic in Greece. For lots of Greece travellers and Greece fans it equals holiday, summer, sun, escaping the normal world. Taking a Blue Star Ferry means going to a better place, a sun soaked island, far away from life as we know it. There is no other country in the world where locals and visitors are fans of ferry companies, but here in Greece, you will see how many cars have Blue Star bumper stickers. Proud to be sailing Blue Star!
Yes, we also like those big and giant blue ferries, manoeuvring with extreme precision into tiny ports. From Amorgos to Athens, it takes almost 8 hours of sailing with the Blue Star Naxos, so we decide to take a cabin to rest and work. Normal travellers who are not that much on the road like us, don’t mind spending those hours sitting outside on deck, enjoying the sun, reading a book, sleeping and relaxing. Buy some fresh treats in the local bakeries before boarding the ship, so you still have a taste from the island when sailing.
