Gerakas might be a seaside village in the Peloponnese, the looks are quite Aegean. Many sailors stop here to indulge in fresh seafood, eating along the dock of this tiny village. At the end of fjord, we spot a wetland and laguna where migrating birds en route to Africa make a small pit stop and socialize with the many indigenous birds of this region. Gerakes used to be a hideout for pirates and an important port during the Byzantine and Venetian times. Now, especially in low season, it’s a sleepy village, perfect for a long and quiet lunch…
