I can no longer say I only flew one time in first class. Today I got upgraded to First with British Airways from London to Toronto. Before the flight, a visit to the Concorde Room in Terminal 5 in Heathrow was included. The lounge was more quiet than the BA business class lounge, and they serve food off a menu instead of the popular buffet concept. I expected the Concorde Room to be more personal and intimate but what do you want from a major airline like BA with lots of its customers flying in First class every single day. The cabin and the seat in First are stylish and slik. Not a lot of bling bling, taking into account the heritage of the country. Overall the style and atmosphere is very British. It was a short flight to Toronto, a bit over 6 hours. So just time enough to watch a movie on the huge tv-screen, have a nap in the seat that the crew turns into a real bed with duvet and all, and enjoy the food and drinks. Cheers to that!
