You can only spot these giants in the (sub)Arctics. The second biggest type of whale in the world and as far as we could tell, a very curious species indeed. This particular bowhead kept feeding below the broken off pieces of ice along the floe edge. It came up to breath and then dove to come back later. Mike put on his dry suit and went close to shoot it. When the huge head came up it looked a second at Mike and then disappeared again. We were all amazed, startled. It wasn’t a narwhal but it was for sure an experience never to forget.
